SODEMO Aero Concept Products from France surprised with a new V-2 engine specially developed for the experimental and LSA market.
The V-2 is a four-stroke, fuel-injected engine and weighs only 121.25 pounds (55 kg) and develops 102 hp at 6,500 rpm. Reduction gear (1:2.75 ratio) lowers the cruise rpm of the prop to 2000 rev/min.
The engine will enter production with 992 and 1,200 cubic centimeter displacement churning out 102 and 136 hp, respectively. Each cylinder features four OHC chain-driven valves and two spark plugs. Two ECUs for redundancy are on board as well.
The compact engine looks very clean and features several smart solutions, including the built-in oil tank of the dry-sump engine and the conveniently located, easy-to-reach automotive-style oil filter. The engines will be available by mid-2016.
