Groen Brothers Aviation (GBA) experienced a reduction in force in 2008 which resulted in the suspension of manufacturing and delivery of the SparrowHawk Gyroplane.
Since we are currently not in production, we have reserved our limited parts supply for our existing customers. I would suggest contacting the Popular Rotorcraft Association. The PRA is an excellent resource and I encourage you to visit their website “PRA.”
I also suggest a visit to the online “Rotary Forum.” It’s a valuable resource and a dedicated site for kit-built rotor enthusiasts.
We have good news regarding the future availability of SparrowHawks. Earlier this year, GBA announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Groen Brothers Aviation International, LLC (Groen LLC), entered into an agreement with Guangzhou Suntrans Aviation Science and Technology Co., Ltd. to form a Cooperative Joint Venture (CJV). Groen LLC was formed to participate in the joint venture. The CJV will be named Foshan Suntrans-Groen Aviation Co., Ltd. (FSG Aviation). It is expected that FSG Aviation will reintroduce the SparrowHawk III Kit into the US and world markets, followed over the next few years by a fully assembled light gyroplane using technology transferred by GBA to the CJV. The agreement for the CJV will come into force upon the approval of the appropriate Chinese regulatory authorities for which the parties are in the process of preparing the necessary papers.
